A Texas native, and mostly self-taught, Tina Bohlman uses watercolor to create her breathtaking paintings and brilliant rural landscapes. She cultivated her natural talent with great dedication and an insatiable desire to learn the techniques and history of the art by supplementing her independent study through workshops with the best artists in the field, including Jan Kuntz, Tom Lynch and Irving Shapiro.
A veteran of numerous plein air and “quick draw” events, including, Plein Air Southwest–Outdoor Painters Society, Sedona Plein Air Festival-Sedona, Arizona, and Paint The Parks-Estes Park, Colorado, she says, "I have been an outdoor painter my entire art career. Nothing compares for inspiration and capturing light and emotion. Every stroke must be without hesitation. It’s a marathon race with the sun; spirited, emotional….and exhausting. I love it!”
With this dedicated attitude, her skills and talent, Bohlman has made quite an impact in her field. Over the past forty years, she has earned more than 60 awards, including a dozen First Place and four Best in Show titles. Her work is collected worldwide with originals in private and corporate collections in 34 States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Portugal, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and West Africa. |
