Yvonne was born and raised on a cattle ranch near Elk Grove, CA; which explains her passion for horses, animals and people. Capturing a sense of feeling, and a moment in time, through use of color and light, is the goal in each of her paintings. She works in a variety of media, with the most recent works being of Colored Pencil and Acrylics. She has won numerous awards, which include, Best of Show, California State Fair Purchase Award, People’s Choice and Award of Excellence.
Yvonne studied art at American River College, and Cosumnes River College. She has taken workshops with many well-known artists, and has taught workshops in the Sacramento Community for over 25 years. She has served as President of WASH (Water Color Artists of the Sacramento Horizons) and was appointed to the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors.
Many of Yvonne’s works have been done on commission. Her paintings hang throughout the U.S. including the Sacramento State Capital and Washington D.C.
