Artist's Statement

A Contemporary California Impressionist, Val Carson lives in southern California, but enjoys traveling, capturing on canvas the world of light and color that inspires her. A studio as well as a plein air painter, her paints always travel with her. Val received a Fine Art degree from University of CA, and studied with the Plein Air Painters of America. She has led plein air painting workshops through Coastline College in So. CA. This will be her 8th season with Il Chiostro in Italy.

Val has exhibited at Salon International and with the Oil Painters of America, California Art Club, LPAPA, WAOW, SOCALPAPA and is a Signature member of the American Impressionist Society.
