Jeanne currently lives in Port Angeles, Washington. Her passion is painting outdoor scenes of landscapes, architecture, and animals.
Though Jeanne has had some formal art training, most of her art education has been through self-study and selected courses and seminars with some of the nations top wildlife and landscape artists. She enjoys the challenge of trying different subjects and of gathering information for new paintings. Her work has won numerous regional awards in Alaska and Washington as in collections throughout the United States and parts of Canada.
Jeanne and husband, Vern, a retired fireman, live on 4 1/2 acres outside of Port Angeles where they enjoy trail riding up in the mountains and raising German Shepherd dogs.
"Fifteen years of living in Alaska have given me a real love for the wildlife of the far north. However, since joining the Port Angeles community in 2001, I have found an interest in the local wildlife and scenery of the Pacific Northwest as well. The beauty of Olympic National Park, the rugged Washington coastline, and picturesque farms in the area provide endless inspiration for new work.
I work almost exclusively in oils now, but I have been known to do an occasional acrylic or watercolor. My painting style could be considered to be somewhere between impressionism and realism."
