Artist's Statement

Michelle Filice, was born in New England and currently resides in Northern California as a full time painter. She received her BA in Art History at Colorado State University and is currently enrolled in the MFA program at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Further studies have been with notable artists Kevin Macpherson, Scott Christensen, Brian Blood and Betty Carr.

Michelle describes herself as an impressionistic realist. She paints on location “en plein air” and then returns to the studio to re create her experience in a larger format . A limited palette keeps colors bright and harmonious . Painting quickly creates fluidity and dynamic brushwork.

Michelle is a member of Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, the California Art Club and Women Artists of the West .
