Interpreting Nature in Pastel and Oil
Joey uses rich layers of color and texture to convey the beauty of the subjects she paints. Working in both oil and pastels, she has achieved much in a short amount of time. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and an associate member of Women Artists of the West and the Oil Painters of America.
Joey has been in numerous local and national juried exhibitions including Gilcrease Museum’s American Art in Miniature in Tulsa, OK and the Pastel National in Wichita, KS. Recent honors are Best of Show and an Award of Excellence at the Woman Artists of the West Invitational Show in Chicago, IL, Best of Show two years in a row and 1st Place for Landscape in Ozark Pastel Society’s annual competition and a purchase award at the Pastel National 2006.
