Robin Lee Makowski is an award-winning artist, illustrator, author and instructor. She has more than thirty published children’s books to her credit and has created posters for organizations such as The Discovery Channel and Greenpeace, and had her illustrations published in National Geographic Magazine, The New Yorker, and other prominent publications.
Robin’s illustration background bleeds-over into her fine art compositions. With a meticulous eye for detail and a passion for light & color, she tackles her subjects with gusto. Her signature pieces have won her many awards; most recently Best in Category for Watercolor successively at the 2009 & 2010 Ruidoso Art Festivals, and First Place at the prestigious New Mexico Watercolor Society show in Albuquerque in October of 2010. She was awarded Third in Watercolor in the 2009 Utrecht Art Supply & American Artist Magazine International Competition out of more than 12,000 entries.
Robin is represented by Santa Fe Art Collector Gallery, and works from her own gallery & studio in Tularosa, NM. She was accepted into Women Artists of the West (WAOW) in October of 2010. |
