Artist's Statement

Georgene is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, TX where she enjoyed teaching Biology. She then taught Mathematics and Biology at Mary Institute in St. Louis, Mo. Georgenes’ works are eclectic, ranging from stylized animals to life-sized children.

She has sculptures placed in numerous parks including Chicago, Ill; Texas City, TX; Derby, KS; Greeley CO, and the Historical Museum, Littleton, CO. In Denver, her work is at the Colorado Rockies Coors Field, Boys and Girls Clubs, National Jewish Medical Center, American National Bank, Kent Denver and Graland schools, Mackintosh and Colorado Academies.

Awards include Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists, and this fall the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club (Paul Manship Memorial Award), and the Salmagundi Club Award from the Salmagundi Club Open Exhibition in NYC. She is a contributor to the newly published hard-book, Sculpture of the Rockies featuring three-dimensional artists representing the Rocky Mountain States.

Georgene recently exhibited again at the Audubon Artists Exhibition in NYC, American Arts in Miniature at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, OK, and Sculpture in the Park, Loveland, CO.

or the beauty of stylized animals in motion. By creatively using my heart, as well as my hands in wonderfully satisfying ways, I believe I can contribute to the enjoyment of others."

"Forget-Me-Not"

Forget-Me-Not is a stylized African
elephant. With its convex and concave lines, there is added movement to the sculpture, and with its negatives and positives there is additional interest for the viewer.
