Artist's Statement

More that anything I want to communicate with the viewers - to evoke an emotional response. In order for me to consider a painting successful my inner emotions have to emerge on canvas and create a sense of joy and a sense of freedom of spirit. I enjoy developing a painting from abstract images. Allowing the abstract form to suggest the outcome gives me a uniquely open vision. I work exclusively in oils as no other medium satisfies and gives me that look , feel and luminosity that oils do. I try to incorporate 3 elements into my work- movement, mystery and romance Painting is a very important part of my life, something I could not do without. Every canvas represents a new challenge in which I set a mood and create an emotional impact.

My teaching experience of 10 years helped me to reinforce not only my own skills but the knowledge I had gained from the many professional artists with whom I have studied.
