Sandy is a native Texan and loves this part of the country. She has been interested in art since childhood and has dabbled in oil painting for many years while working and raising children. A while before retiring she began a watercolor class and was hooked. For ten years she painted only in watercolor with some success but started painting in oils (with instruction) just last year. She and her husband, a potter and artist, travel extensively attending art retreats and gathering resources for their art.
"My hope is that I transmit my feelings to viewers about the things I paint, whether it is a beautiful flower, landscape, or just depicting ordinary things and events in daily life. I try to create a memory of what captures my interest about God’s wonderful creations, whether it is the light streaming across a flower petal or a special place I have been. I want to allow the viewer to see those things through my eyes."
