Artist's Statement

"My desire and challenge is to capture the raw and elusive beauty of the American Southwest landscape; the changing light and shadow, distant horizons, riveting blue skies or the surprise of spring flowers in the desert.

I consistently strive to sharpen my observation by finding light in the shadows, subtle colors, or painting the mood of the moment into each piece.  My wish is to represent the landscape in such a manner that the viewer will pause and reflect or just draw in a little breath as they gaze on each painting."
