Artist's Statement

"I was a portrait painter of horses and other animals for many years, with original works in private collections across North America. More recently I am painting and drawing what moves me personally.

A deep love for horses began in childhood and wide experience with many horses through the years has allowed me to draw on my detailed knowledge of the horse in all its beauty of form and motion, and I feel my artwork reflects that experience. Growing up on a farm in Wisconsin also allowed close observation of wildlife in nature. My husband, Ray, and I raised cougars for a time as well, and that has provided an insight into the world of big cats and how they look and behave from birth through adulthood."
