Artist's Statement

I have been an artist all of my life. I have a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an Associates degree in Advertising and Graphic Design from RMCAD in Denver. I have won many awards for my art, and my paintings have been exhibited in many regional and national exhibitions. My work hangs in private collections throughout the United States. My equine art has been featured in articles in both Horses in Art and Western Horseman magazines.

“I am fascinated by the effects that light has on an object or landscape, and it is fun for me to try to capture that in a painting. My subject matter varies, from still lifes and landscapes, to portraits and animals. I am always learning and each painting is a journey of discovery, full of fun and interesting challenges.”

I am currently an Associate Member of Oil Painters of America and WAOW. I am also a member of the Longmont Artist's Guild, and Plein Aire Painters of Estes Park, Colorado.

"Along the Canal"

Oil on Canvas

This was painted from a plein aire study and some reference photos. This pretty canal is near where I live in Colorado, and I enjoy going for walks there. Lots of birds like to frequent this area and the views there are gorgeous.

"Approaching Storm"

This area is on one of my shortcuts on the drive to the mountains. These horses are almost always there, and since one of my very favorite subjects is horses, this painting was a real pleasure to paint!
