Artist's Statement

I have always loved art and knew that I wanted to be an artist from a very young age. I had the opportunity to see many great works of art, while growing up in New York City. I was fortunate to be able to go to Italy in my early twenties. While there, I earned a four year degree from La Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, Italia. My classical education in Italy has stayed with me and will always be my guiding force. I have since studied at the studio of R.S. Riddick, joined him at Scottsdale Artist School for workshops, and I have also studied with Jove Wang. I am forever grateful to my teacher and mentor Ron S. Riddick for his enduring patience, insight, and understanding about the importance of perseverance. I’ve been living in Tucson, AZ since 1989.

"After Halloween"

I was walking in the wash near my house, and when I looked down I saw these abandoned pumpkins. I knew that I had to capture them, just the way I found them!

"Morning at Agua Caliente Park"

Oil on panel

I go to the Agua Caliente Park very often, and I find that the early morning light there is so beautiful. I love to go back for the next few days at the same time and try to capture the mood. The mood (mine and the light), is always a little different, but I love the challenge of melding it all into one vision.
