Artist's Statement |
I am an impressionistic artist painter. I try to get out at least once a week to paint Plein Air, whatever the weather, enjoying the sounds of nature. My paintings are stories in color. Any subject is a challenge and I try to capture fleeting moments in time. The color that I see in nature I skillfully apply to the canvas.

an 'on the spot" plein air oil painted of a husband and wife dressed in period clothing to celebrate Old Colorado City's 125 years anniversary in Colorado Springs.
The title does suit the painting, as I won 1st place in this Quick Draw Event.

This painting is a composition of Yachts and boats getting ready for a Saturday sail. I also used more grays and a onochromatic tone to give a feeling of seaside.
This painting is of Santa Barbara Harbor with a few extra boats painted in to give the feeling of much activity.
