"Fading Light" |
Oil |
|
This was painted from a photo I took from our car as it was speeding past this beautiful mountain at sunset just west of Moab, Utah. I tried to capture the orange light on the otherwise gray mountains, just at that right moment. |

"Orchid Awakening" |
Oil |
|
My only orchid plant blooms very infrequently, and when it does decide to, I drop all other projects and paint it. This was one of those times, and I chose a very dark background to make the white orchids pop. I also tried to make each orchid bloom different from the others and to soften some as they disappeared into the background. |
