Fading Light

"Fading Light"

Oil

This was painted from a photo I took from our car as it was speeding past this beautiful mountain at sunset just west of Moab, Utah. I tried to capture the orange light on the otherwise gray mountains, just at that right moment.

Orchid Awakening

"Orchid Awakening"

Oil

My only orchid plant blooms very infrequently, and when it does decide to, I drop all other projects and paint it. This was one of those times, and I chose a very dark background to make the white orchids pop. I also tried to make each orchid bloom different from the others and to soften some as they disappeared into the background.

Dimensions: 16" H x 20" W
$1,400 framed

Timeless View

"Timeless View"

Oil

Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas panhandle has become one of my favorite and most challenging painting locations. I love the colors and the atmosphere there. It's one of those places that keeps drawing me back.

Winter Stillness

"Winter Stillness"

Oil

Moraine Park in Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite places to paint. In the winter, the willows by the river turn this beautiful orange color, and I added the Canada geese for a touch of life to the scene. I love to paint snow scenes in both oil and watercolor!

Dimensions: 12" H x 24" W
$1,300 framed
