Judy enjoys painting from life and photographs. Subject matter varies depending on what captures her attention. She lives and maintains her studio in Cedar Hill, Texas.
“I have always been entranced by light and color, and
I like to find a way to portray mundane, ordinary things in an unusual manne. Being a rebel at heart I don’t want to paint the same old, same old all the time. I am striving always for that “Ah Ha” moment.
Currently, I am delving into Plein Air work, braving the insects and the elements. Landscape painting is becoming my passion, and nature offers up endless possibilities.”

"Seat of Dreams" |
Oil on canvas |
|
This painting started from a photo of an old chair setting outside of a house here in Cedar Hill, Texas. The rest of the painting happened when I asked myself, “What if?” and as I usually like fantasy a whole lot better than reality, the result is in the pudding so they say. |

"Trash or Treasure" |

This painting is a combination of found objects in the cab of an old locomotive. The lighting was so beautiful, it just said, “paint me”, so I did! |
