Pat Carney

Louisville, Colorado

Artist's Statement

Pat Carney’s earliest recollections of growing up on a farm in Missouri are about loving to draw the natural world.  An art scholarship enabled her to go to college and she earned a B.A. and an M.A. in Fine Art and a Ph.D in History.  After a teaching career of almost thirty years, she put her energy again into her art extending her skills by studying with Kevin Weckbach, Molly Davis, and Mark Daily.  An award winning artist, Pat has had her paintings juried into exhibitions of the American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America.

“The purpose of my paintings is to make beauty visible.” Pat states.   “I depict the essence of my subject selecting light and color relationships to create a sense of place.  This helps me convey what it is I see that feeds my soul, and I want others to see that beauty as well.”
