I have been a professional artist for over twenty years, and my subjects have evolved from painting the American Indian people to present day, painting Still Life’s. For me, the process of painting is in itself so gratifying, no matter what the subject.
Early on I developed a love for collected treasures, inspired by my Mother who had a passion for antique stores and second hand stores. Not everything she collected had great monetary value, but each item had a story and a history. She taught me to appreciate these things and to wonder about what stories they could tell.
Now as an artist I take great pleasure in using collected treasures in my still life paintings. I paint two different genres, contemporary still life’s and western still life paintings. I see the beauty in a bowl of lemons on a lace tablecloth, but I also appreciate the beauty of an old Indian pot worn with time and loving hands. Living in Arizona, I am influenced by my western and Indian surroundings, so I divide my time between both contemporary and western subjects.
