I’m an oil painter who usually paints a la prima (in one session) and often from life whether my subject is a landscape, still life or a figure.
In my paintings, I enjoy exploring the patterns that light creates, light that can color a hand the same hue as the skirt on which its rests or by its absence, create shadows to hide a different reality. With my work, I am always attempting to show the beauty and mystery that surrounds us, every one of us, each and every day.
I am presently a board member of The Chestnut Group, Plein Air Painters for the Land and a member of National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. I am a juried associate member of both the Women Painters of the Southeast (WPSE) and Women Painters of the West (WOAW).
I have work in the collections of the Tennessee State Museum and in the Dunnegan Gallery of Art in Bolivar, Missouri.
