After a 25 year career as a social worker, I now have the opportunity to chase my dream of painting, painting, and more painting. I love the great outdoors, and particularly the scenes of the southwestern desert. I also love the images of the old west, including cowboys, rodeos, Native Americans and their pueblos.
My primary medium is watercolors, but I also enjoy gouache, acrylics, and pastel.

"Asilomar Beach Dunes" |
Pastel |
|
Plein Air painting is one of my passions, and the majority of my pastels are done in plein air. This pastel was done, on the grounds of Asilomar State Park and Conference Center, the day after the completion of a paint-along mentor program with Albert Handell. This area of California is so beautiful, that I loved every moment I was out there painting. |

"Homeward Bound" |
Watercolor |
|
This watercolor was painted because I had a photograph of a field that always captured my interest - then I decided to add the cowboy and the young cattle, and the scene just developed as I worked on it.
I called this "Homeward Bound", because that is the feeling I had, as I was painting it. |
