Anita Gersch was born in New Jersey in 1950. She now lives in North Carolina on a farm, surrounded by her beloved retired horses and dogs. “Horse crazy” since she was a toddler, her lifetime of observing horses of all types in both casual and intense moments - as a rider, an instructor and trainer, and as an artist/designer - have given her a perspective that make her uniquely qualified to depict the horse in fine art.
Anita has been an artist and designer all of her life. Equine Design, her graphic design company, specializes in equine themed gift ware featuring her works as the basis for each item. She is now focusing on fine art and works in oil pastels. In addition, she sculpts, and works in sterling and fine silver.
Ms. Gersch is an award winning artist. She is an associate member of the Oil Pastel Society, and WAOW, and has works in private collections. She exhibits regularly and was the featured artist and cover artist for Horses in Art magazine, Fall 2009.
