I grew up in the wonderfully spooky city of New Orleans. My mom told me that I drew before I talked. I don't know about that, but I do know that while other kids were running about in the fresh air, I was huddled inside, first reading then trying to illustrate the stories that I loved.
Today, I want to make sure that my paintings imply a narrative. That
of the viewer is fine-but I mean for them to tell a story- and I consider my paintings to be illustrations.
So I tell my own stories now through my paintings, and I try to infuse them with personality, mood, atmosphere and meaning.
