I live in the rural community of Bedford, Wyoming on three virgin acres, set against the pine covered mountains of the Bridger National Forest. I dream of having an artist retreat here one day. Much of Summer is spent in this pursuit, while also gathering material for future work. Winter is devoted to painting and teaching art.
Much of my work involves Pyrography - better known as wood burning. This adds a unique quality to the work, allowing the grain of the wood to be a part of the painting, while also adding definition and texture.
Whether depicting people, wildlife or the rugged Wyoming landscape, painting is one way I interact with the world around me. My Vision is clarified and appreciation for God's Creation enhanced. Sometimes, when the paint flows freely, it's as if He is guiding my hand. My desire is to share and connect with others, perhaps bringing a moment of reflection, or a precious memory along with a smile.
