After keeping her artistic talent at bay for many years, Reenie found a reinvigorated love for expression through painting. While she studied fine art in college and with various successful painters as a young woman, she found little time for her artwork until she no longer felt the pressing needs of working and raising a family. She has resumed her studies, but now considers she is self-taught. She was named a finalist in the The American Artist Magazine 2008 Cover Art Competition. Reenie is a member of The International Guild of Realism.
Artistic creation has always been a need she’s had to fill. Traditionally trained in oils, she transitioned herself to acrylics for reasons of practicality and found she loves the immediacy of the medium. Serious study with some of today’s accomplished artists led her to concentrate her interests on florals and wildlife until she found herself combining the two.
This is what I know for sure, says Reenie, “Any day that ends with greater learning is a day well spent. I am constantly amazed, and always intrigued, that art has an endless supply of lessons to teach me . . . and nature an unending supply of inspiration.”
