Born on a Southern Alberta ranch in the 50’s, I was aware from earliest memories that I was an artist. Before I could read or write, I was striving to draw the spare sweeping prairie, it’s understated colours and dramatic skies. If all of that fascinated me, so did the people who lived and worked there, along with their horses-especially the horses.
Half a century later much of that lifestyle is fading; the wild prairies receding. I seek to go back there, to that pristine, simple time, bringing my viewers a glimpse of what I saw, and how I still see those magical times, places, people, and especially the horses. |
