Artist's Statement

Marsha is a pastellist born in Nova Scotia and now residing in the Ojai Valley of California. Her work is inspired by light, and how it plays on the landscape, creating moods and emotions. Marsha paints mountains, valleys and the ocean in a painterly style using an enticing vivid color palette. She captures that afternoon glow of the setting sun on the West coast , as well as the morning fog lifting on the East coast. Her work currently shows in galleries in Santa Barbara and Ojai and Ventura.

The San Ynez Valley in California has rolling dry hills in the summer that are scattered with old oak trees. The vivid blue sky this day contrasted well wit the straw colored barren terrain and begged to be painted.
