"...My true passion has always been painting, feeding my life-long fascination with the interplay of light, color and texture. The majority of my work is done outside, where the intensities and subtleties of light, color, and texture are most on display. I usually complete each piece in one sitting. For me it is the only way to capture the sense and feeling of time and place. I love the immediacy and energy of painting "alla prima."
My paintings are studies of the interaction between light and color in the tradition of California Impressionism. The varied Northern California landscape is rich in possibilities for interesting and evocative paintings."
