Nash states "We are drawn to beauty, nature,
a magnificent sunset and most importantly, color. I
prefer the impressionistic, the painterly, and the romantic, coupled
with limpid and lush color. The end result will be a 'pretty
picture'."
D. A. Nash received a B.A. from
the Art Institute of Chicago, studies included but not limited
to Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, The American Academy
of Fine Art and The Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Art, Chicago.
Dana illustrated automobiles
for Hot Rod Publications. Funny Car owner, Don Purdhome, drag racer,
Don Garlits, as well as, Indy racer Gary Bettenhausen had their
car portraits done by Nash in the 1970’s.
Murals were a specialty for Dana in the 70’s—painting scenery in the McCormick Building on Michigan Avenue and
later painting murals in several Tampa, FL hotels. In later years,
murals were painted in private homes around the Chicago area.
Ms. Nash is also a member of the Illinois Watercolor Society (current President) and the National Arts Association (Director). |
