As a child, Carol drew constantly. Her interest in art continued as she grew older, but she did not seriously pursue learning to paint until her two sons were in school. She has attended numerous classes and workshops since that time in order to improve her painting skills. Although she began painting in watercolor, she now paints exclusively in oils.
She is a signature member of the American Impressionist Society and an associate member of the Oil Painters of America and her work has been juried into both national and regional OPA exhibitions. She also holds associate membership in Women Artists of the West and Women Artists of the Southeast.
Other noteworthy recent exhibitions include Salon International, the Gilcrease Museum’s American Art in Miniature, the Bosque Art Classic, the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and the Salmagundi Club.
Carol’s main interest in painting is capturing the effect of sunlight and shadow in an impressionistic style. Her favorite subject is people, although she also enjoys still lifes, florals, animals and landscape.
