"Traditionally Illustrative and Contemporary is how many have described my style.
I am a very well known and established Painter and Illustrator who chooses to paint the
People, their Traditions and Cultures that make the West what it is known for today."
Having graduated from Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles California with a degree in Commercial Illustration, I went on to work as an Illustrator for various Companies and Advertising Agencies- establishing my own distinct style.
After a decade of Illustrating I was drawn towards the Fine Art aspect of the Industry. I wanted to combine my strong Illustrative techniques with the joy of painting.
To support that change I moved to Sedona Arizona, bringing me deeper into the Southwest and closer to the rich cultures of New Mexico, Texas, and Mexico.
Instead of the beauty of the land I chose to paint its People, its Missions, its Heritage, and their celebration of life through daily work and prayer.
I was blessed with a new Illustrative style by bringing together the waters of California and the deserts of the Southwest, creating a world to tell you a story. My beautiful paintings have been represented by some of the finest galleries throughout the Southwest, including owning my own in Sedona Arizona “Shaffer the Gallery”, till 2008.
My Studio Home is now located in the Land of Enchantment, Santa Fe New Mexico. Enjoy! |
