I have been painting for about 20 years and I’m basically a self taught artist. I’ve taken workshops from some of the top artists in my favorite genre, wildlife. These artists include John Seerey-Lester, Carl Brenders, Daniel Smith, Robert Bateman, Terry Issac, Allan Hunt and a few others.
My medium of choice is acrylic, but I also use gouache and oil depending on the look I’m after. I like the “punch” I can get with these mediums. I am a member of several Artist guilds, one that is really dear to my heart is The Artists for Conservation. I don’t usually paint the public favourites in wildlife, because I like to draw attention to the overlooked things. To make people stop and look at their surroundings, and maybe take the time to smell the roses, and enjoy the other inhabitants of the earth. I believe that we should learn to share our limited space and enjoy the earth’s diversity. |
