Sullivan’s love of painting the great outdoors has led her to a 30 year career as an artist. Janet’s work has been included in invitational art shows across the West. They include the C.M. Russell Auction, Coeur d’Alene Miniature Show, Hockaday/Glacier Paint Out, Yellowstone Art Museum, Art of the West Show, and many more.
Most of the year, she paints on location and enlarges the studies in the studio. In the winter, Sullivan creates imaginable colorful skyscapes and tonal paintings. She is a founding member, President and Secretary of the Montana Painters Alliance. Other affiliations include; The Northwest Pastel Society; Pastel Society of America, signature member; and recently she was chosen to be an Associate member of the Women Artists of the West. Sullivan is represented by the Samarah Fine Art, Dana Gallery and the Angel Gallery.
“The phenomena of light and color in the landscape intrigue me. I paint those elements that evoke a sense of elation and wonder of this incredible world. Conveying those sensations to the viewer is my goal and brings tremendous joy into my life. “
