I was born and raised in England, and have lived in many parts of the United States, and now reside permanently in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico.
After four years of formal art education at the University of Alaska, I continue a life long learning process and have studied with many nationally recognized artists such as Carolyn Anderson, Ted Goerschner, Laura Robb and John Poon.
I am a member in several organizations, including OPA, WAOW and PAPNM, in which I was awarded Best of Show for 2009. I was featured in the September 2010 issue of American Art Collector.
Painting is a communication without words. I don’t have to go further than my garden to find beauty everywhere. I enjoy painting landscapes, often incorporating the figure, portraiture and still life. If the moment is exciting to me, then that is what I try to capture in my work. It can be a time of day, light falling a certain way on the landscape or a figure, or it can colour or an interesting composition. |
