Born in 1986, Nicole is the fourth generation on the family ranch in southeastern Alberta, making the western art genre an obvious choice for her to follow. Self-taught, she uses pencils as her preferred medium to portray the hard work and dedication required of the ranching lifestyle. Her highly-detailed drawings, filled with contrast and emotion, capture everyday ranch activities, making them into something special and cherished.
Although she has been drawing for as long as she can remember, it wasn’t until 2009 that Nicole started to per sue her art seriously. In this short time, she has had her work featured in the Western States Horse Expo Equine Dream Art Show, where she was awarded 2nd place for “A Loose Cinch and a Cold Drink” in the drawing category, the Western Spirit Art Show and Sale, The Calgary Stampede Western Showcase Art Auction and The Bosque Art Classic. |
