My art education began when I was a child with my grandfather Johannes Christofel de Does, who supported himself & his family in Holland during WWII with the sale of his paintings. My formal education includes an Associate Degree with an Art emphasis at Northern Oklahoma College with Gene V. Dougherty & a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Painting from Central State University in Edmond. My work is exhibited throughout the states in private collections and over the last ten years in numerous Oklahoma galleries.
I believe the creativity we all express is a reflection of the Creator's Work in us and the world around us. We all do our best to interpret that world in a way that makes a statement of who we are as artists and what is important to us. My desire is to inspire, bless and interpret beauty by painting or drawing realistically and artistically the majesty of the lives or vistas I see. The sweet moments between people, the simple play of a child and the marvelous strength of a horse at work with his human are worthy of the recording. I am proud to be among those who long to stop time and help others remember the lovely things on this earth.
