Artist's Statement

Horses are one of God’s most exquisite creations and I am most at peace when I am with them. They keep me humble and add an awareness like nothing else I know. I started drawing recognizable images of horses when I was three and I have never stopped.

In 2007, I was finally in a position to paint full time and begin offering my work to the public, a lifelong dream. Horses have given me so much throughout my life, it is my great honor to feature and promote them and the western lifestyle I love, through my artwork. So far, the rewards have been beyond description and the journey has only just begun.

When Time Goes Away

"When Time Goes Away"

oil on canvas

I watched my friend Betty as she worked with her impulsive, warmblood filly, Jemima. It was awesome to see the two of them come together. Betty knew when to reward her mare to let her know she had done the right thing. I wanted to capture that moment “when time goes away” and harmony settles over horse and rider.
