"My passion is to create intimate landscapes
transporting you to another time and place. Nature’s magic
and intriguing pathways inspire me to paint the songs of my soul.
Oils with palette knife and pastels are my preferred media.”
At 36, Carol unlocked the artistic vault she had kept sealed for
over fifteen years. In 1987, her late mother-in-law introduced
her to watercolors and her corporate blue suits were traded for
an artist's smock. Through independent study and workshops, McIntyre
learned the medium of watercolor. In 1994, she began working in
pencil, followed by pastels in 2001, and oils in 2006. If she is
not out on-site painting, Carol is in her Black Forest, Colorado
studio. Her book, Painting My Passion: An Artist's Journey with
the Women of the West, documents her experience creating 25 paintings
commemorating the women of the 1800's, where she focused on the
hand to tell her visual story.
Carol is the Past President of the Minnesota Watercolor Society,
former Associate Professor of Art, and she has curated and juried
shows. She was the cover story of Watercolor, and she has exhibited
nationally. She is a signature member of TWSA, and an associate
member of PSA. |
