Caly's artistic quest is to express the energy and spirit of her kaleidoscopic animals. As an experimental colorist, she is always looking for new ways to allow the pigments on the paper to react, dance and swirl while still creating powerful or fun animal images. Each painting is encouraged to take on a life of it's own.
Garris has found her own way to use watercolors even though she has a Fine Arts Degree from California State University. Her award winning art is seen in Oregon, California, Montana and New Mexico galleries along with the Ellensburg, Washington National Art Show, the Cattlemen's Western Art Show in Paso Robles, California and the C.M. Russell Show in Great Falls, Montana. She has private and corporate collectors all over the globe.
Caly is a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and a Signature Member of the Women Artists of the West.
