Artist's Statement |
AS long as I can remember, drawing and painting were the things that brought me the most joy. Being an identical twin, my own identity was very important to me. As it turned out, my twin has the math skills and I was working the other hemisphere of the brain. Together we made the perfect woman!
Being able to do something I have such passion for, and doing it well, is a dream come true. The gift of continual growth and undending opportunities in this field of art will give me daily challenges that will keep me engaged and active for my entire life. How great is that?
Also, teaching for the past 30 years has kept me on my toes - and what a joy that has been. I have watched many of my students excel in their art and many make it their career choice. ..while others are able to just find a way to express their inner voice. This has also been rewarding.
"All in all, I have truly been blessed with my gift from God and I will try to never take it for granted."

I love doing animals in scratchboard, especially ones with a great look in their eye. We have a lot of bobcats where I live and they always amaze me with their quickness and those eyes and ears.
