Barbara Larimore works in oils and pastels. Her varied subjects come from painting "plein air" and photos from her travels across the states and abroad. She works in an impressionistic style, and loves the effect of light.

In the spring, Texas fields are lush with wildflowers. Sometimes the photo
comes up short of what the eye sees. I enjoy taking
artistic liberties in my paintings to achieve what the photo didn't
reveal. |

Traveling along, these house tops caught my eye, and my camera.
I did an under-painting in watercolor, and topped it with the pastels.
This a favorite technique I use with these mediums. |
