"Morning Hunt"

The coyote was painted from one reference photo and the landscape of rabbitbrush in the snow is from another photo, but both were in the local Southern California mountains.

A winter morning near Big Bear Lake in Southern California's mountains. I've painted this scene several times, in all seasons.

"California Natives"

Oil on Canvas

The Mexican fan palm and prickly pear cactus are typical of the pale but beautiful colors found in plants native to the dry, hot climate of Southern California. I had fun painting the "negative shapes" around the palm fronds.
